Celebrating World Literacy Day

Introduction
On the 8th of September, we had an event at Ghiyasuddhin International School to celebrate world Literacy Day. The event was held at 10:00 am. During this event, JK Rowling visited as our special guest.
Briefing and activities
Before the event started, our principal briefed us about World Literacy Day and why it is celebrated. We were also informed of the activities planned out for the day. Firstly, we watched a short film about the importance and wonders of literature. After that we all had to give a small talk about our favorite books. This was a fun activity as many students had the same answer. Next, there was a big breakfast buffet with unique recipes from famous stories. During breakfast, we watched a play about Romeo and Juliet.
The best part about this event was when our Principal introduced JK Rowling. She came as our special guest. First, she introduced herself and her story of how she became an author. Later, she showed us some of her most famous books. After the introduction, we got to ask her questions about her and her work.
Recommendations
Overall, I believe that the event went very well. It was well organized and full of activities. However, I think that the time we had to interact with JK Rowling was too little. I would suggest doing that first. I really recommend having another event like this.
