Teachers' Day celebrated at GIS

Teachers’ Day was celebrated at GIS on the 16th of October 2014. The teachers were received in the morning by the SMT and the PTA Executive Committee with a bouquet of flowers and to the festive drum beats played by the school band and the members of the Students’ Council.

Teachers were invited for a breakfast in the school hall and later a special assembly was held where students and teachers expressed their sentiments. School Principal thanked the teachers for their dedicated effort and commended the teachers for the amazing receptiveness they have shown to the changes that GIS continues to bring to the education system.  Each teacher was given a token of appreciation handmade by the students.

Paper rockets made by the students with words of appreciation were flown onto the compound from all the floors, to the delight of the teachers who were gathered in the compound. Class parties were held and teachers and students took part in different activities. It was a fun filled day with lots of laughter and joy.

Different competitions for teachers were held prior to the day and on the day as well.  The Teachers’ Day activities culminated in a special dinner for teachers, held at Traders Hotel on the 18th of October.
