20 students and 2 teachers left to Colombo, Srilanka to participate in the Indian International Model United Nations (IIMUN) Conference to be held from 8th to 10th July, 2016.

The delegation has been getting ready for the conference for the past week. 18 students are divided into the 10 committees and 2 students will sit as speakers for the Indian Parliament  and the Srilankan parliament.

The training  sessions were conducted via webinar  by the organisers of IIMUN.
Other sessions were held by the Arts HOD and some parents. The contribution of Dr. Ali Naseer in training the students  is gratefully acknowleged by the school.

The students will no doubt gain a lot of skills and knowlege through this conference and it would be a wonderful experience. A model UN offers students the opportunity to do research, learn the language of international diplomacy, build self confidence, engage in team work, negotiating and  discussing possible solutions to global issues, to name  a few.

The three day conference is hosted by the British School Colombo. The students were accompanied by the Arts HOD, Mr.Jerome and KAC, Ms. Moomina

GIS has participated in two international competitions this year  and this would be the third international event.

Good luck to the delegation and make GIS proud!!
