GIS WSC team breezes to victory winning 4 Golds and 7 Silver Medals!

The GIS WSC team wins four golds and seven silver medals from the Tournament of Champions of the World Scholar's Cup held at Yale University, New Haven, United States of America. The competition was held from 18th to 21st of this month.  The team consisting six members  have done marvellous work at the competition and it is indeed  a victory for GIS as the great six are spotted among the 1600 participants from 40 countries.  We believe that GIS team also represented Maldives by proudly waving the Maldivian flag at the closing ceremony.

The team accompanied by the Deputy Principal Ahmeema Abdulghafoor, English HOD, Ms. Saroj Wilson and two parents got the privilege to visit one of the greatest universities in the world, The Harvard University and the United Nations Head Quarters too. The team also got the opportunity to meet the Maldivian ambassador to US at the embassy during this visit.

GIS wishes to thank the participants for the wonderful job they have done during this journey of the tournament including the rounds held in Sri Lanka and Czech Republic respectively. Also thanks to English HOD Ms. Saroj and DP Ahmeema for preparing the students for the tournament. A special thank you to the parents of the team participants for supporting them from the beginning till the end of the tournament. In addition to this, GIS also wishes to thank the Maldivian ambassadors to Sri Lanka, European Union and to US for the warm welcome given to the team. Also the Foreign Ministry for the assistance put forward when the team required it.
