Should schools consider re-opening during this pandemic?

In the last few weeks, we have not been going to school. At least, not physically. Schools all around the globe have been closed due to the covid-19 pandemic. However, many people insist that schools should re-open. I believe that they should not re-open schools just yet.

Firstly, if the schools re-opened, the students and the staff who go there are going to be at a high risk of the virus. Even a small thing like cough can be dangerous in a mass gathering such as a classroom. Furthermore, researches have shown that children are among the ones who are most prone to this virus. I think this reason alone is enough for schools to be kept closed.

Another reason why schools should be closed is, it slows down the curve of the spread. When too many people get sick, a country’s ability to take care of its people will not be enough. So, just by keeping the schools closed, we are flattening the curve and keeping the number of people who are getting sick at a manageable rate.

To sum it up, schools should be closed until the pandemic is over and till there are no risks. I firmly believe that schools should not consider re-opening. It may cause an outbreak that might be even worse.
