Marking the End of the Academic Year 2016: Form Morning & Evening
To mark the end of academic year, we organise an event by the name 'Form Morning/Evening' to which students' parents, siblings and grand-parents are invited. This year's Form Morning/Evening were held on 15th November 2016 for the Seniors and on 16th November 2016 for the Juniors. During this year’s event, the grade report, was shared by the Deputy Principals through a slide presentation. This presentation showed the comparison of the percentage of students who achieved the MLCs between term 1 and term 2 for Junior section while for the senior section it was the comparison of pass percentage, pass average and fail percentage of each subject per grade. After this, the students lined up on the stage to receive their progress reports. The event ended with a colourful and energetic stage performances by the students.
This year, all the performances were based on the seven habits of highly effective people which were introduced in the Leader-in Me programme at the beginning of the year. The performances were in the form of short dramas, action songs, musicals and dances. Each grade focused on a habit and so the students managed to share the first four habits of the programme: 'Be proactive', 'Begin with the end in mind' 'Put first things first' and 'Think win-win'. It was amazing how the students presented these habits. Through their performances, students also showcased their skills such as singing, playing musical instruments and other talents.
GIS wishes to thank the teachers for guiding the students to prepare themselves for these performances and the effort to create leaders for such events. A special thank you to all the students for containing these habits and trying to instill the values of these habits in order to become future leaders. GIS has never doubted the support from the parent community; from the beginning till the end of the academic year, our parents have supported the school activities and events and extended assistance whenever the school required it; therefore a heartfelt thank you to all the parents of the GIS family.
Happy holidays to all the members of GIS family!
