The Student Achievement Award Ceremony (SAAC) was celebrated on the eve of 31st August for the Juniors and 1st Sept 2018 for the Seniors. The first night was graced by Senior Lecturer from the Maldives National University, Dr. Aishath Ali and the second night by the Pioneer of English Private Schools in the Maldives, Mr. Mohamed Musthafa Hussain.

In accordance with the theme of this year, which is traffic, the venue resonated the traffic lights, road signs, vehicles and zebra crossings.  A total of 769 students were awarded during this year's ceremonies. Certificates, wooden awards and book prizes, inscribed with traffic signals, with a slogan ‘Avoid reckless driving for everyone’s safety’, were distributed to students for their achievements, under several categories.

The chief guests of both the ceremonies appreciated the school for initiating various programmes. Ms. Aishath Ali reminded the students that “success is a collective effort” and all have to try to work  hard together, to achieve success.  Mr. Mohamed Musthafa Hussain spoke of the richness of Dhivehi Language and urged to appreciate and use the language correctly. He also  advised the students to enrich their knowledge by learning about the culture and heritage of other countries when they travel abroad. He congratulated the school for the use of technology, but reminded everyone to use it wisely. The keynote by the School Leader, Mr. Thoha Saleem highlighted various pressing issues we are facing today, one of which is traffic. He further emphasised the fact that all the things we learn should be applied in real life situations. On a closing note he also gave the students a pleasant news that the following day would be a holiday.

One of the distinctive features of the ceremony was the achievement day song which was beautifully synchronized with the theme. This performance was followed with another item expressing love and gratitude to parents and the teachers. To add to the glory of the function the school choir and the band gave a live performance.

We are grateful to the parents for their constant support and assistance. On this note, we also extend our thanks to all the teachers: the art department for creating wonderful artwork for the ceremony, primary teachers for their creativity in making the gifts, the middle school teachers for helping and guiding the students with their performances and the secondary teachers for making the amazing book prizes.  The ceremony concluded wishing all the participants to “drive home safely”.
