Great Works of Project Based Learning by Gr. 1 to 9

{flike}

In the aim of providing an opportunity for the students to expand their learning and experience the in-depth of learning through investigations, explorations and innovations, GIS introduced Project Based Learning (PBL) in the year 2013 which is now an annual educational program.

This year, with the challenges of having a heavy calendar, the grades 1 to 9 managed to work around a theme – one for each grade of 1 to 3 while grades 4 & 5, 6 & 7 and 8 & 9 worked around one theme. Side by side with other activities and whole school programs, the PBL went quite well and it was well-liked by all parents. Some of the grades such as grades 1 to 3, displayed amazing great works which were done by the students over a period of eight weeks. The other grades worked for about 1 to 2 months and displayed their great works which were again well-received by the parents.

This year’s great works of the PBL were displayed on October 3rd by Gr. 4 & 5 and Gr. 8 & 9 while Gr. 1 to 3 displayed their great works on 4th October 2018. Grades 6 & 7 displayed their great works on 16th October 2018.

PBL enhances student-learning by allowing them to practically engage in deep learning. This year’s themes and great works are as follows:
