{flike}

8 students and 2 teachers visited GIS from India on an exposure trip from the 7th to 11th of September 2015.

4 students from The Gurukul , Kashipur accompanied by the Principal who is also the Head of school and 4 students and 1 teacher from The Shriram Millennium School, Faridabad spent their trip exploring and learning about the Maldives, its culture and traditions. The group was accompanied by an official from Shrieducare Ltd. Apart from visiting the important places in Male visiting K. Huraa, Hulhumale’, Vaadhoo Island resort and meeting with the Indian High Commissioner, ,the students spent time in the school as well. A special assembly was held and presentations and items were presented by both GIS students and visiting students showing the culture of both countries. The students also sat in the classrooms and experienced learning in a Maldivian classroom.
Students from GIS have been visiting India on exposure trips from 2012 onwards and this is the first trip made by Indian students. Such programmes will help students to learn beyond the classroom, open their eyes to the world and make friends from other countries.
The Indian students immensely enjoyed the experience and took back knowledge which would not have been possible to learn in a classroom.
