A CIRCUS AT GIS ON CHILDREN'S DAY

{flike}

Children's Day was celebrated at GIS on 10th May, 2017 with a colourful circus theme. The day was a joint effort by the school and the very active and energetic PTA of the school.

The teachers and the SMT dressed in accordance with the theme, standing at the gate designed like a circus tent,  greeted the students upon their arrival.

At the assembly a beautiful Arabic song was sung by the grade 5 students. Principal addressed the students and called upon the students to be kind and considerate to others and said that if we are not empathetic to each other, what we learn from the books become redundant. He also added that the school is ready to do everything to make sure that students are given top priority in everything. The  staff had dressed as clowns for the day and on previous days we had dressed as fruits, vegetables and even chess pieces!! That is the extent we go to ensure the students that whatever we do for them is taken at heart by everyone in the school.

The school PTA  organised food for the students in the cafeteria and ice cream, popcorn and lemonade were freely available from stands  set up in the  foyer. The activities were carried out in the hall and the compound monitored by the Students Council.  Also, a bicycle show for the students  was  presented by the secondary teachers The primary students especially enjoyed the bouncy castle and the trampolines while  a highlight  for the secondary students was the scavenger hunt organised by the Students Council.

It was a funfilled day for everyone in the school.
