{flike}

16th October is World Food Day. Each student of GIS was presented with two apples and an orange by Banyan Tree Maldives, as part of their community service.

Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts distributes food to different local communities every year to mark this day and this year they chose GIS.

Several officials including the General Manager, North Male' Mr. Axel Jarosch visited the school to present the fruits and the school captains received the fruits on behalf of the school  in a special  assembly held for the occasion.  Further, Mr. Axel expressed Banyan Tree's interest in collaborating with the school on various initiatives, and he was particularly impressed by the environmental initiatives of the school. Banyan Tree carries out significant conservation initiatives  and invited the school to send students to observe these  to broaden students knowledge base and to create awareness and interest in environmental issues.

GIS is a co-educational school catering to children between the ages of 6 and 16 years.
Our preparatory year as an international school began on a good note with a number of promising students and dedicated staff.
