TED-Ed Student Talks Series
Yesterday, we proudly concluded our first cycle of the TED-Ed Student Talks Series, featuring seven talented students from grades seven to ten delivering their TED-style talks.
The GIS TED-Ed Club, launched under the TED-Ed Student Talks banner, provides a platform for students to develop and share their “ideas worth spreading.” Over the past eight months, students embarked on a journey of self-exploration, identifying their passions and transforming them into compelling stories to share with an audience. This journey has honed their skills in research, collaboration, critical thinking, and public speaking.
A standout feature of this program is the collaborative spirit among the students. They not only developed their own ideas but also played a crucial role in refining each other’s ideas through constructive feedback.
These ideas included:
1. Anaya Mohamed Solih, 8C – Overcoming Hardships through Faith
2. Tara Elena Shifah, 8C – Importance of Community Service
3. Dhaha Ahmed Shiyam, 9B – Finding Balance in Life
4. Ahmed Areen Mohamed, 7B – Overcoming Introversion
5. Aleena Ashraf, 9B – Do not Let Disabilities Define You
6. Malaica Mauroof, 10C – Understanding and Accepting Type 1 Diabetes
7. Insha Ahmed Shifaz, 8C – Literature and Liberation
This event marks the first of many showcase events we plan to hold each academic year, offering more students the opportunity to embark on this enriching journey of self-discovery.
