GIS has taken a step to reach the community by sharing the postcards prepared by the students of Grades 1 - 10 to mark the Commonwealth Day with the Economic Development Ministry. This remarkable event was held at a small function held in the school today (4th April 2013) which was graced by the Minister of Economic Development Mr. Ahmed Mohamed. Apart from the Minister, 12 members of the senior management of Economic Ministry also attended this function.

At this function, the President of English Literary Association (SLATE) Aishath Razan Asif of Grade 9A briefed the attendees about the importance of preparing the postcards which was about ‘Building a dynamic National Economy’. This was followed by a short speech by our Principal Mr. Thoha Saleem who talked about sustainable economy. He also thanked the Minister for accepting our request and considering the step we have taken very positively.

During this function, Minister Ahmed Mohamed highlighted on two particular aspects: saving for future and conserving energy to reduce expenditure. He also encouraged the students for being aware of the various challenges that contribute to the development of Maldives.

After the Minister's short speech, the postcards were handed to the Minister by our Principal. Before leaving the function Minister Ahmed Mohamed signed the school’s Guest Book and the team from the Economic Development Ministry congratulated the students and the staff.
