First Place in the National Oratory (Under 13)
& Group Performance in the Inter-school Singing Competition

Two special functions were held at GIS to honour the students who brought flying awards from two competitions: National Oratory Competition and Inter-school Singing Competition.

GIS Oratory team was given red carpet on 14th May 2014 for achieving first place in the under 13 category from the whole National Oratory Competition while the same honour was given to GIS Singing team on 20th May 2014 for achieving first place  from the Group Performance in the Inter-school Singing Competition.

At these special assemblies, the certificates and trophies awarded to our students at the closing of both the National Oratory and Inter-school Singing Competition were handed while all our students, staff and parents of the participants cheered the members of the two teams.

The red carpet honour is a culture GIS wish to sustain in order to acknowledge and appreciate the hardwork of the participants as well as coaches, teachers/staff and parents.

Hence, GIS thank the Dhivehi Department, specially our Dhivehi teacher Mr. Ahmed Waheed Ali for preparing the Oratory team. GIS also wish to thank former Dhivehi teacher Mr. Anwar Ibrahim for the assistance given to these students. A warm thank you to Ms. Andhala Haleem and Ms. Aishath Inaya for coaching and preparing the GIS singing team. At the same time, GIS wish to thank all parents, staff, management and others who are a part of these achievements.
