A one-hour PD session on using Formative Assessment was conducted for the teachers teaching to Grade one.  This workshop, participated by 20 teachers was facilitated by the school Deputy Principal, Ms. Shirmeena Faheem.

According to the Deputy Principal, the same session will be conducted for the teachers teaching to Grades 2 - 5 in small groups. The session for the teachers of Grade one was held on 28th January 2015 and will be continued in the coming weeks for the respective grades.

Since the primary grades use Formative Assessment to assess the student performance, it is vital for teachers to get familiarised with the Formative Assessment Strategies. The major aim of the session was to share and learn about various strategies that the teachers can utilise in the classroom to interweave the assessment and instruction. Thus, teachers would be able  to provide students with constructive feedback that they can use to improve the quality of their work.
