The Students’ Council of GIS was elected on the 18th of February after a week of exciting   campaigning. It was an educative exercise for the students in a number of ways. They learnt  the skills of persuasion through speech and posters, the norms of competition and how to do it in an amicable and healthy manner and also to accepted defeat with courage and courtesy and to appreciate the success of others.

The voting was conducted electronically, thanks to the expertise of the IT coordinator Mr. Abdulla Muaz and the ever innovative thinking of the Principal Mr. Thoha Saleem. The Scout leaders  and Rovers of  GIS Scout Group helped and observed the election. Parents of the candidates were invited to witness the voting. Voting began at 0900 hrs and went on for approximately 3 hours. The results were announced by the Principal at 1400hrs  in the presence of all candidates and the Senior Management of the school.

A total of 83 students ran for the posts.
