GIS Basketball teams played fairly at the 17th Inter-school Basketball Tournament which ended last week. Although the two teams of Under 12 age group did not win any matches, their level of performance has been improved and GIS encourages the players to use this spirit and aim for a better performance next year. The Under 14 boys’ team played fairly well in all the matches they played and had shown a good performance.

The Under 14 girls’ team won all the matches they played and went to semi-finals as the group’s first team. It was just hard luck to the girls who unfortunately lost the game to the opponents by just 1 point and did not play the finals.

The teams led by the coach Mr. Moosa Ali have shown energetic performances on the court and achieved individual placements recognised by the Maldives Basketball Association. The school management appreciates the effort and thanks the coach, parents and the players.
