The signing ceremony of MoU between Sheesha Pvt Ltd and GIS to sponsor Franklin Covey’s The Leader in Me programme was held on the 14^th of July, 2015 in the school hall. The MoU was signed by the CEO Mr. Ibrahim Husham on behalf of Sheesha Pvt Ltd, and Principal Mr. Thoha Saleem, on behalf GIS. Members of PTA, school Management and teachers attended the ceremony.

The Leader in Me programme has been adopted in over 2,000 public, private, charter and magnet schools across 35 countries world wide , since its official launch in 2009. GIS is the first school in the Maldives to take up this initiative to empower the students by teaching them 21^st Century leadership and life skills. GIS have always believed that every child is capable and every child is a leader. This is the paradigm that The Leader in Me programme is based on.

The strategic direction session with all teachers, and non academics staff of the school is scheduled to be held on the 28^th of July. The training programmes will follow, in different phases. This programme will be run for all the students of GIS from 2016 onwards.

As the school embarks on its journey of this whole school transformation process, it grateful to Sheesha Pvt Ltd and the Parent teacher association of the school for sponsoring the programme.
