12 students of GIS left to participate in the Global Round of the  World Scholar's Cup  to be held in Prague, Czech Republic from 22nd to 26th July 2016.

The students participated in the Regional Round in Sri lanka and qualified for the Global Round. The students were accompanied by the Deputy Principal and the English HOD. 6 parents also went with the delegation
The Scholar's Cup is an academic competition where scholars from over 50 countries compete annually in different regions of the world. Students debate, answer a one hour paper of questions ( the Scholar's Challenge), write in teams ( Collaborative Writing) and participate in a mass quiz  competition ( Scholar's Bowl).
The students study a given curriculum for this under a given theme. This year's theme is "The Imperfect World".
500 scholars from over 30 different countries competed in this year's Global Round in Prague.  3 junior teams and 1 senior team participated from GIS   and they have done extremely well and all the teams have been qualified for the Tournament of Champions to be held at Yale University, from 18th to 21st November, 2016.
