Mr. Richard's Visit to GIS

The Head teacher of Ashley School, UK Mr. Richard Dunne visited GIS from 31st July to 2nd August 2016. During his visit he did lesson observation of the teachers teaching English and Literature to Grades 1 to 7 and shared constructive feedback.

In addition to this, a four hour workshop was facilitated by him on Project Based Learning and using Geometry to enhance Integrated Learning. During this workshop teachers got practically engaged in open discussions and creating plans to enhance integrated learning through inquiries. Teachers also planned activities to create the understanding between geometry and natural resources in order to enhance integrated learning.
Since GIS collaborated with Ashley School, each grade has been working on a project every year. During this workshop teachers came up with plans to carry out this year's project work and how to present the 'Great Works' at the end of the project based learning.
GIS wishes to extend gratitude to Mr. Richard for the valuable experience that he shared with our teachers and creating an environment for them to relearn effective methodologies to develop teaching and learning.
