Student Achievement Award Ceremony
GIS hosted the Student Achievement Award Ceremony on Saturday, 14th September 2019. The awards were given to the students of Grades 8, 9 and 10 of 2018. These students were commended for their performances through the year and were conferred with the Merit and Commendation Certificate along with Academic and Activity Colour Award, Book Prize and Symbolic Prizes: Star of Excellence, Award of Admiration, Award of Inspiration & Community Service Award.
The ceremony was presided over by the Chief Guest - Former President, Mohamed Nasheed, the Speaker of the Parliament and many distinguished dignitaries. Prestigious members of the PTA Exco too had graced the ceremony with their presence.
The audience was a witness to the enthralling performances of the Choir and the Band. It indeed was a proud moment to the parents of the the 'O'Level Top Ten Achievers' of the year when they witnessed their child being felicitated by the Former President Mohamed Nasheed. The night also was made plush with the words of wisdom of the Chief Guest and by the speech of the school Principal. Selected students from Gr. 4 & 5 presented an item that expressed their gratitude to all the adults in their life. In addition, a heart-warming rendition was dedicated to the Principal by the students who conducted this memorable ceremony.
In all, the night was one that would remain etched in minds for a long time as the GIS family including PTA and Shri Educare acknowledged the assiduous work by our beloved Principal Mr. Thoha Saleem crowning him with the title 'You are our PRIDE'.
