International Literacy Day

πŸ“š Exciting News! πŸ“š
Today, on International Literacy Day, we kicked off the "GIS READS" Reading Program for the year 2023-2024! πŸ“–βœ¨
Our students had a fantastic kick start to this initiative with a range of engaging activities:
🎨 In-class activities that allowed them to reflect on their favorite stories, write captivating book reviews, and even create their own comics! πŸ–οΈπŸ“πŸ“š
πŸ“– Every student received special bookmarks to accompany them on their reading journeyπŸ“Œ
🌟 To make this day even more special, we had some awesome guests from the Reading Room who read fantastic stories to our students. Ms.Sofa Shafeeg had the grades 1 to 3 children tickled pink by the hilarious things in Angelica Sprocket's never-ending pockets and Ms.Asima Abdulgadir had them in stiches by the Interrupting Chicken!!
Ms. Yooliya Haleem captivated the imagination of grades 4 and 5 students and showed them that the fun in stories can be in the words too and we don't need pictures all the time!
The grades 6 to 10 were enthralled by our very own Principal, Ali Mustafa, who kept them on toes with his storytelling magic, showing that what we think we see might not always be true! πŸ“£πŸ“–
But that's not all! Our dedicated teachers and SMT members showcased their story reading talents through entertaining skits, adding an extra layer of excitement to this memorable day. πŸŽπŸ“š
"GIS READS" is about immersing the children in the world of books and that's what we did the whole day!!! πŸŒπŸ“šπŸ’«

Family Day for the Little Ones of GIS

{flike}

The annual Family Day for the Gr. 1 students and parents was held on 2nd May 2018. Filled with lot of enjoyment, the day was participated by all parents of Grade 1. The day began with a warm welcome item by the students singing a special song sung by them. Parents and students actively completed all the activities arranged for the day including an adventurous Scavenger Hunt. The event ended with a small family team in the school hall. Afterwards, the families took the day's memory with them along with a jar of thoughts hand-designed by the little ones and a family polaroid picture nicely framed by the teachers of the little ones.

GIS would like to thank the Grade Accor Ms. Nazeeha, teachers of Grade 1 for organising and conducting the event and also, the teachers of Grade 2 & 3 along with all subject teachers for creating the lovely backdrop and helping with the event.

GIS is a co-educational school catering to children between the ages of 6 and 16 years.
Our preparatory year as an international school began on a good note with a number of promising students and dedicated staff.
