GIS Chess Teams Earn Champion Titles from the Inter-school Chess Tournament

GIS Chess teams: Under 8 and Under 10 have taken the Champion titles from the Inter-school Chess Tournament held on 14th & 15th April 2017. Our students played very well during the tournament and apart from winning the Champion titles, three students won First Places from the two age categories.
GIS Hosted International Robotronics Competition (IRC) - Maldives Round

IRC Maldives Round was held for the very first time at Ghiyasuddin Intl. School on 10th April 2017 . Different rounds of are organised and held every year by Avishkaar group, a Delhi Company before they host their League Competition. This year, along with GIS, Ahmadhiyya Intl. School (AIS) took part in the IRC Maldives Round and competed very well at the tournament.
Visit by Franklin Covey Official Mr. Bill Mcintyre

Mr. Bill Mcintyre and his colleague paid a short visit to GIS on Monday, 10th April. They were welcomed by school management and the Student Lighthouse Team. A tour around the school was given to them by the Student Lighthouse Team members and Mr.Bill was very impressed by the hospitality and information provided by the students. There was a meeting arranged for the school light house teams with Mr.Bill to discuss the progress in the ‘Leader-in-Me’ activities. A presentation on the sequence of the events of Leader in me programme was carried out by one of the Student Lighthouse Team members and the quality of our activities were appreciated by Mr.Bill.
Mr.Bill and his colleague were fascinated by the progress we made in the Leader-in-Me programme within a short period of time. He said that GIS fall into level two in the framework which is a great achievement within such a short period. Mr. Bill acknowledged that we were moving on the right track and he also put forward some suggestions to fasten up the process. Mr. Bill had a very friendly conversation with the Student Lighthouse Team and he clarified their queries. He assured to provide full support and guidance throughout the process. On behalf of GIS family a beautiful token was presented to Mr.Bill.
Mr. Bill returned after promising to arrange a deeper training in the revised programme directly from US.
