Art Stream Students initiated a Programme called ‘KIZUNA’

kizuna

To enhance the learning outside the classroom with a difference the Art Department of the school initiated a programme called ‘KIZUNA’ meaning bond in Japanese. This event was organized and conducted by Art Stream students of Grade 8, 9 & 10, on 16th March 2013.

Two delegates from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency, Ms. Rika Mitsuhashi and Hiroko Mitsuhashi enlightened this event by sharing information on Benin which is vital for Art Stream students when doing their case studies. The major focus of the event was to exchange important information about the Japanese Earthquake 2011 and Fukoshima’s Nuclear reactor blast 2011 which are again useful for case studies. This information was exchanged by Jaishan Amir and Manal Mohamed of Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE).

The event was given an additional colour with the cultural performances displayed by the Japanese delegates and our students. Before the event ended, the two delegates engaged the participants and the audience in an origami activity which is famous in Japan.

GIS extend gratitude to the Japanese delegates and the students from CHSE for providing our students a learning platform with a difference. At the same time we also thank the Art Department for organizing the event so wonderfully.
