GIS Reads Programme 2024
Though it was a gray morning today, this year's GIS Reads Programme was kicked off to a colourful start! Teachers dressed up as well-known storybook characters, to the delight of all students.
The day began with a special assembly with tales about the Day the Crayons Quit by the school SMT, and students enjoyed a performance by their beloved teachers, who attempted to harvest an alarmingly large turnip!!
In their classrooms students got to review books, play word games, and create bookmarks to share with each other. They set off on their reading journeys once again where teachers took them on exciting adventures through different stories.
To top it all, the PTA organised a book drive for students to donate books to the school library.
We are all excited to start reading all those wonderful books!

Marine Science Field Trip
Exciting Marine Science Field Trip!
Our Grade 8 and 9 students went on an exciting Marine Science field trip to Villingili!
They observed marine specimens, identified and classified various marine organisms, and compared species based on shared features. The snorkeling adventure was a highlight, allowing students to explore the beautiful coral reef environment. They noticed both healthy and unhealthy areas of the reef and had insightful discussions about the reasons behind this. Students also measured water currents and tidal amplitudes, activities that deepened their understanding of tides and currents. The trip was both educational and fun! We thank the Divers Lodge instructors and parents for their support in this trip.
