World Scholar’s Cup Global Round in Bangkok!
GIS Scholars Shine at World Scholar’s Cup Global Round in Bangkok!
The World Scholar’s Cup Global Round in Bangkok was an incredible experience for the Scholars of GIS! This year’s event was one of the largest and most diverse, with over 4,000 scholars from 35 countries converging at Thammasat University.
GIS represented 10 teams and brought home an impressive haul: 69 Silver medals, 59 Gold medals, and a special Trophy for Coach of the Decade, awarded to Ms. Saroj Wilson!
This event offered students a unique opportunity to develop a range of skills such as critical thinking, public speaking: team collaboration which helped them gain confidence and clarity in presenting their ideas effectively. The skills gained eventually translate into improved performance in other academic areas, as students become better researchers, writers, and communicators.
Our 30-student team was supported by the dedicated teachers and four supportive parents. A huge ‘thank you’ to the parents for their invaluable assistance throughout the trip!
The journey doesn’t end here. The GIS team is gearing up for the final round, the Tournament of Champions taking place this November at Yale University in New Haven, USA.
After a week of intense challenges and achievements, the team was greeted with a warm welcome from the GIS senior management and proud parents.
Congratulations to all the scholars for their hard work and dedication! We can’t wait to see what the Tournament of Champions has in store.

Robotics FIRST Global Championship 2024
Our Robotics team had an incredible experience in Delhi, India, where they secured their visas for Greece. We are deeply grateful to the Maldives Embassy in India for their unwavering support. The Maldives High Commissioner, His Excellency Ibrahim Shaheeb, along with Defence Advisor BG. Mohamed Ibrahim, First Secretary Mr. Mohamed Najeel, and First Secretary Ms. Fathmath Liusha, went above and beyond to assist us every step of the way.
Their direct involvement in the visa submission and passport collection ensured a smooth process, and their warm hospitality and ambassador's inspiring words left a lasting impression on our students.
This experience will be one our team will always remember as our team embark on the next chapter of our journey at the FIRST Global Challenge 2024.
A heartfelt thank you to the High Commission of Maldives in New Delhi for your tireless efforts and support.
